The Secretariat organized the first Insurance Industry Sports day on 31st October 2008 and has continued doing so every year. The objective is to bring together insurance companies and industry stakeholders to participate in sporting activities and to offer staff an opportunity to interact/network.
This years preliminary ball games kicked off at the Railway Training Institute from 28th July 2015 to 28th August 2015. Twenty-five organizations participated. The finals took place on12th September 2015 at Nyayo Stadium.
Teams participate in the following activities:

1. Athletics
100m Flat – Ladies& Gents, 1500m Flat – Men Only, 3000m Flat – Open, 200m Flat – Ladies& Gents, 800m Flat – Ladies Only, 400m by 4 Flat – Team Event (2 Ladies, 2 Gents), 100m by 4 Flat – Team Event (2 Ladies, 2 Gents)
2. Field EventsS
Short Put – Ladies& Gents, Long Jump – Ladies & Gents ,Tug of War – Team Event (3 Ladies, 3 Men)
3. Ball Games
Soccer, Volleyball and Netball
4. Swimming
Breaststroke – Ladies & Gents, Butterfly –Ladies & Gents, Backstroke – Ladies & Gents
Relay Freestyle – Team Event (2 Ladies, 2 Gents).
5. Indoor Games
Darts, Badminton, table tennis and Pool
6. Auxilliary Games
400m Ladies’ Tennis Relay (4 ladies), 400m Men Mng’ari Ng’ari Relay – (4 Men), Kati with Blocks: Team Event (6 Ladies ), Seven-a-Side Soccer/ Easy Ball – Like Handball, Kuku Chase Seniors, Half-Bucket Balance Relay and CEO’s Karai Karai – 6-a-Side Business Game that Requires the CEO’s Participation as the Karai Holder – No team plays without the CEO. 10 points is awarded to teams whose CEOs attend the Sports Day.
Winners in various categories are presented with medals, shields, trophies and certificated of participation. Winners are determined by the total points awarded per event and overall score.
